Master Rummelier® Greg D. Hill is an avid rum enthusiast, co-owner of a rum-centric cocktail lounge in Virginia and a champion of the sugar cane spirit. As developer of the Rummelier® Certification program, he has leveraged his 35+ years of adult education experience to create curriculums for all levels of rum enthusiasts. The Rummelier® program currently has hundreds of graduates that represent over 35 countries worldwide. He founded the Richmond Rum Society with roots dating back to 2010 along with founding the Royal Rum Society in 2017 which has multiple chapters globally.
An award-winning author, he has published multiple books on various topics including “It Came From The Cane” – a non-traditional book offering readers a fun-filled adventure into the world of rum and “The Spirit of the Sugar Cane” – a textbook and guide to the diverse range beverage range produced from the sugar cane. In 2023, he published the first edition of “The Rummelier Magazine” with articles contributed by rum enthusiasts from around the world.
Well known in the spirits industry, he is a regular speaker at rum festivals and events around the world, a judge for spirit competitions globally, a contributor for Newsweek Magazine as a member of their Expert Forum, Co-owner of the Rum Centric bar "Sidecar Cocktail Lounge", and teaches a course on rum and the sugar cane spirit at the University of Lynchburg in Virginia.
